[ 1 ] You Took The Breath Away From My Open Mouth

I’m not really aware of my surrounding. I think that’s one of the first thing anyone should know about me.

When Alden mentioned about the new girl last night, I was as clueless as the others about her. I even found out her name was Ayla through him.

I remember someone introducing themselves in front of the class, though. I just couldn’t remember who — mostly because I was too caught up with my upcoming AP Calculus test.

So, when Fred forced us to came to school earlier just so he could catch Ayla up before she went inside of the class, I didn’t hesitate much to say yes.

Coming to school earlier than we have to, actually wasn’t something completely new to us.

Sometimes, we would play soccer before the first period starts. Our school’s field is also located in front of the gate, so, we could see anyone that came through while playing.

“How do you think should I greet her? Should I go with the friendly guy vibe, or should I put my mysterious image?”

Fred has always been the most flirtatious amongst us. He moved on from one girl to another girl as fast as the light. I voiced out my dispute against this habit of his so many times before, but Fred never really listens to me anyway.

“I don’t think you have the mysterious knack inside of you, mate,” Felix says as he passes the ball at me.

“True,” I respond as I try to shoot my goal. I missed.

“What about Michelle, though? Won’t she get jealous by this?” Andy suddenly says, voicing out one of the questions that has been sitting on the back of my head for a while now.

Michelle was Fred’s girlfriend of 6 months, the longest he had. Fred told us she dumped him a few days ago, because he has too many girl friends, he said.

“Michelle is the sole reason of this whole agenda, mate. I need to get back at her, at least for a bit.”

Fred never admits it, but I know he’s pretty bummed up about the whole thing. Afterall, knowing Fred, 6 months of a steady relationship should be counted as a milestone for him.

“Guys, she’s here,” Felix says, making all of our head turns into the same direction.

Another school bus has just arrived in front of the school’s porch. I didn’t know how Ayla looks like, but strangely, somehow I could tell that the girl with blue hair that just came out of the bus, was her.

Felix was right, she’s hot. Eventhough I would rather describe her as … beautiful.

Fred was the first one to leave the field to approach her. I was hoping Ayla would reject him and just continue walking to the class, but to my surprise, she greets Fred back almost as friendly as him.

Even from a distance, I could tell that she has a beautiful smile. One of the prettiest smile that I’ve ever seen.

“Mate, what you’re doing? Come on.”

I didn’t even realize I was frozen until Andy nudged me to catch up with Fred and the others.

I jog a little and approach them. Everyone was introducing themselves one by one to her, which she responds with a big smile on her face.

I noticed it’s not only her mouth that’s smiling, her eyes also turns into a pretty line as she smiles.

“And this is Asa. He’s from Indonesia too!” Fred says, speaking over me. Something that he usually do everytime we meet new people.

“Hi, I’m Ayla! Nice to meet you,” Ayla says as she stretches out her hands to me. I didn’t catch her hand right away. Felix has to nudge me first to bring me back to reality.

“Ah, right. Sorry,” I try to wipe my sweaty hands first on my soccer pants before taking Ayla’s hands, “I’m Asa.”

I wanted to say so much more but that was the only thing that I could forced out of me. She completely took the breath away from my open mouth. []
